JOHN FLENTIE
John owned a house and several million dollars in investments and other
assets in Kansas City, Missouri. He had no children. He fell at his home
and was hospitalized for observation. The equivalent of Texas APS
kidnapped him from the hospital and he was sentence to life and heavily
medicated. A probate judge appointed the equivalent of a guardian. The
guardian confiscated John’s assets.
Three of John’s boyhood friends have been his advocates. He has been incarcerated for over 2 years. The Open Records Project will not rest until he is released and his assets restored.

DON MICHAEL BRANNON
Don owned the home in which he grew up in Johnson County, two cars, and a
small bank account. He had no children. He fell off a ladder and hit
his head. APS kidnapped him from the hospital. He was sentenced to life
in an asylum and heavily medicated. A probate judge appointed a
“guardian”. The guardian confiscated Mike’s assets, his pension, and
defaulted on his property taxes. The guardian promptly began attempts to
liquidate the house.
A boyhood friend brought Mike’s case to us. The Open Records Project interviewed Mike inside the asylum with constant moans and wailing clearly audible in the background. The tape was made available to the media. The judge reversed himself and Mike was release the day before the story ran.

CHARLIE AND EDITH FINK
Charlie and Edith Fink owned a home in Dallas County, a ranch in Paris,
and 4 cars including a new Jaguar XJS. They had no children. Edith was
kidnapped by APS in a lightening raid on their home in January. Charlie
was kidnapped 2 weeks later following a hernia operation. He was
committed to a psych ward by a doctor he never saw. He and Edith were
sentenced to life in an asylum an hour’s drive from their home and were
heavily medicated with psychoactive drugs. APS petitioned the probate
judge to appoint a Guardian and confiscate his property and accounts.
Before the looting could begin Charlie’s neighbor contacted Fox News, which began a series of stories. Almost immediately the probate judge reversed himself and freed Charlie. Edith is still being held and as a result Charlies assets are subject to being stripped by the probate court and the State.

MICHAEL AND EUGENIA KIDD
Michael and Eugenia Kidd owned a home in Collin County, had a six figure retirement account, and drove a Cadillac. Michael broke his hip and after surgery was committed to a pscyh ward by a doctor who never saw him. Eugenia refused to leave his side and was taken as well. They were incarcerated in an aslyum an hour’s drive from their home and were heavily medicated with psychoactive drugs. APS petitioned the probate judge to appoint a Guardian and confiscate his property and accounts.
After nearly a year of incarceration Michael was able to get a call to Fox News where he had been an engineer. The Open Records Project sneaked a notebook computer and cellphone to Michael and he began posting to his Twitter account. The ORP also uncovered irregularities with both the Guardian and the committing physician. The judge on his own motion reversed the incarceration and returned most of their assets a week later.
